Programme Description
The Global AI Accelerator for Media supports innovation in journalism by funding and guiding organizations experimenting with AI solutions that strengthen newsroom operations and sustainability. Through expert mentorship and a collaborative environment, participating organizations receive tailored assistance to design, test, and scale their AI strategies.
Over the 8-month period, selected participants will benefit from capacity-building workshops, hands-on training, and access to global networks of media innovators.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Global AI Accelerator for Media, organizations must meet the following criteria:
- Be an independent news organization producing original editorial content.
- Be based in a Global Majority region (including Africa, Asia, Latin America, or the Middle East).
- Have been operational for at least three years.
- Employ between 3 and 50 staff members (full-time equivalent).
- Demonstrate a clear interest in or experience with AI tools, along with a defined newsroom challenge or opportunity that AI could address.
Applicants should provide evidence of a well-defined project idea, including user research, problem identification, and a feasible plan for implementing the grant funding within the 8-month period.
