    The African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative (AWEC) Programme 2026 is a 12-month, fully funded leadership and business management programme designed to equip African women entrepreneurs with the skills, networks, and mentorship they need to accelerate their ventures.

    This programme functions like a mini-MBA, offering participants the opportunity to engage in peer learning, receive personalized mentorship, and implement practical lessons directly in their businesses. It is a hands-on experience aimed at empowering women who are leading established businesses that create meaningful impact in their communities.


    Programme Duration and Key Dates

    • Programme Duration: 12 months (typically starting from May 2026)
    • Application Deadline: 1 February 2026, at 11:59 PM UTC

    Who Can Apply

    The AWEC Programme 2026 seeks passionate and committed women entrepreneurs who meet the following criteria:

    • Must be founders or co-founders of an existing business operating for at least two years.
    • Must have a team of at least two full-time or part-time employees.
    • Must be a citizen of any African country, residing either on the continent or in the diaspora (diaspora applicants’ businesses must demonstrate a clear impact on Africa).
    • Must be proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
    • Must have reliable internet access through a computer or tablet.
    • Must be committed to engaging virtually throughout the entire 12-month period.
