    The F. M.     About the F. M. Kirby Foundation Summer Internship Program 2026

    The F. M. Kirby Foundation Summer Internship Program 2026 is designed to introduce undergraduate students to the operations and mission of a private philanthropic foundation. Interns will engage in a wide range of activities that develop their professional, analytical, and communication skills.

    Interns will work closely with foundation staff and gain insights into the processes behind grantmaking, nonprofit partnerships, and community development initiatives.

    • Internship Duration: Approximately May–August 2026 (exact dates may vary)

    Responsibilities

    Interns in this program will contribute to several key activities within the foundation, including:

    • Conducting research on new funding opportunities
    • Supporting communications efforts (both internal and external)
    • Participating in site visits with grantee partners
    • Proofreading and editing written materials
    • Performing data analysis and report preparation
    • Assisting with special projects aligned with their academic interests and skills
