    Bezos Scholars Program 2026

    Deadline: January 15, 2026

The Bezos Scholars Program 2026 is now open for applications — a prestigious, yearlong leadership development experience designed to empower outstanding high school juniors who are passionate about community change, leadership, and civic engagement. This remarkable initiative helps students build essential leadership skills, design impactful projects, and connect with a network of changemakers across the United States.

About the Bezos Scholars Program 2026

The Bezos Scholars Program 2026 offers a one-of-a-kind platform that equips young leaders with the tools, knowledge, and mentorship they need to make lasting contributions to their communities. Each year, selected Scholars embark on a dynamic journey of growth that begins with an immersive experience at the Aspen Ideas Festival in Aspen, Colorado, and continues through the creation of community-driven projects throughout the year.

The program seeks to nurture socially conscious students who are eager to lead change and collaborate to address real-world challenges. It’s an opportunity to gain practical leadership experience, receive valuable mentorship, and access world-class resources that foster innovation and impact.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Bezos Scholars Program 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be a high school junior (11th grade) at the time of application.
    • Attend a U.S. public high school that meets at least one of the following conditions:
      • 30% or more of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.
      • The school is designated as a Title I school.
      • The school is identified by the state as economically underserved or high-need.
    • Have a minimum unweighted GPA of around 3.0.
    • Be committed and available to fully participate in all yearlong activities and program sessions.

Each applicant must also select an educator nominee — a supportive teacher or school adult who will serve as a partner throughout the program experience.

Benefits of the Bezos Scholars Program 2026

Successful applicants to the Bezos Scholars Program 2026 receive a range of exceptional benefits designed to foster leadership and long-term success:

    • Leadership Development: Comprehensive training throughout the year focused on communication, collaboration, and impact-driven leadership.
    • All-Expenses-Paid Experience: A fully funded, week-long trip to Aspen, Colorado, where Scholars participate in the renowned Aspen Ideas Festival.
    • Community Change Grant: A $1,000 grant to design and launch a local Community Change Project addressing a pressing community need.
    • Personalized College Advising: Access to professional college counseling, including guidance on applications, essays, scholarships, and financial aid.
    • Global Network: Connection with a vibrant community of peers and alumni dedicated to creating positive change locally and globally.

This combination of learning, mentorship, and real-world experience makes the Bezos Scholars Program one of the most enriching opportunities available to young changemakers in the U.S.

    Application Process

Applicants are encouraged to prepare thoroughly before submitting their materials. The application process involves the following steps:

    1. Prepare Application Materials: Gather academic information, extracurricular achievements, and personal background details.
    2. Select an Educator Nominee: Choose a trusted adult from your school who will support and participate in your leadership journey.
    3. Submit Essays and a Short Video: Articulate your leadership vision, experiences, and goals through essay responses and a short personal video.
    4. Complete and Submit the Online Application: Ensure that all sections are completed and submitted by the deadline of January 15, 2026.

Selected candidates will be notified in the spring of 2026, with program onboarding and kickoff activities commencing in May 2026.
