    The fellowship is offered by the Center for Hellenic Studies (CHS), a Harvard University research centre operating in both the United States and Greece. The fellowship is administered through CHS Greece, providing fellows with access to a vibrant international research community.


    Fellowship Location and Language

    • Language of Work: English
    • Greek Language Requirement: Not required (knowledge of modern Greek is an advantage but not mandatory)

    Fellows are encouraged, though not required, to reside in or near Greece for the duration of the fellowship to fully engage with CHS academic activities.

    • Start Date: 1 July 2026
    • End Date: 30 June 2027
    • Length: 12 months

    Fellowship Benefits

    Who Can Apply

    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must:

    • Have completed and defended a PhD before 1 December 2025
    • Demonstrate a strong research focus on AI ethics or the ethics of technology
    • Be fluent in English
    • Show the capacity to complete an independent research project within the fellowship period

    Early-career scholars and non-tenure-track postdoctoral researchers are especially encouraged to apply.


    Application Requirements

    Applicants must submit a complete application through the official CHS application platform. The application package must include:

    • A detailed research proposal (approximately 1,000 words)
    • A current curriculum vitae (CV)
    • A work sample (up to approximately 10,000 words)
    • Contact details for two academic referees

    Reference Letters

    • Referees must submit their letters directly through the application system
    • All reference letters must be received by the stated deadline

    Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
