Who Can Submit a Nomination
Nominations can only be submitted by:
- UNESCO Member States, in consultation with their National Commissions
- International or regional professional and non-governmental organisations active in journalism and freedom of expression

Language and Submission Requirements
- Nominations must be submitted in English or French
- Each nomination must include:
- A completed official nomination form
- Supporting documentation detailing the nominee’s background
- Clear evidence of the nominee’s contribution to press freedom
All nominations are forwarded to the UNESCO Director-General by the authorised nominating bodies.
