    The Lutfia Rabbani Foundation Travel Grant 2026 is a funding opportunity designed to support students and professionals from the Arab World and the Netherlands who wish to gain intercultural, academic, or professional experience in each other’s regions.

    The grant promotes mutual understanding, collaboration, and dialogue between Europe and the Arab region through meaningful travel focused on education, science, and culture.

    • Up to €2,000 to cover eligible travel-related expenses

    The funding is intended to support travel that contributes directly to the applicant’s academic, professional, or cultural development.


    Who Can Apply?

    Eligible Nationalities

    Applications are open to:

    • Arab nationals from eligible countries, including but not limited to:
      Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, and Yemen.
    • Dutch nationals residing in the Netherlands.

    Eligible Applicant Profile

    Applicants must be:

    • Students or professionals
    • Able to demonstrate a clear academic or professional motivation for travel
    • Planning to:
      • Travel to the Netherlands (for Arab applicants), or
      • Travel to an Arab country (for Dutch applicants)

    Purpose of the Travel

    The proposed travel must:

    • Foster intercultural understanding and meaningful exchange
    • Support learning related to culture, history, politics, education, or professional development
    • Include preparation before departure and reflection or follow-up activities after returning

    The foundation values travel that leads to long-term impact and knowledge sharing.


    Application Process

    Applicants are required to:

    • Complete the official Travel Grant Application Form
    • Prepare supporting documents, which typically include:
      • A statement of purpose outlining travel objectives and expected outcomes
      • A detailed budget showing how the grant funds will be used
      • A CV and any other relevant documentation
    • Submit the completed application by email as instructed in the application materials

    Important note: While a fixed deadline is not specified, applications are generally expected to be submitted at least three months before the planned travel date.
