    TechGirls Program 2026

    Deadline: January 20, 2026

The TechGirls Program 2026 is a fully funded international exchange initiative designed to empower and inspire young women from around the world to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Organized by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by Legacy International, this prestigious program offers participants hands-on technical experience, leadership training, and cross-cultural exchange opportunities in the United States.

    About the TechGirls Program 2026

The TechGirls Program 2026 brings together talented young women aged 15–17 from various countries to participate in an intensive 23-day summer exchange program in the United States. The initiative focuses on equipping participants with advanced STEM knowledge, leadership development, and practical experience through workshops, mentorship, and community engagement.

Participants attend a Tech Camp at Virginia Tech University, where they engage in interactive technology-based workshops and collaborate on projects that address real-world challenges. Beyond the classroom, they take part in community immersion activities, job shadowing with professionals in the STEM field, and cultural exchange experiences that foster global friendships and understanding.

The program also includes a seven-month mentoring component that begins before the U.S. exchange and continues afterward to help participants implement community projects in their home countries.

    Program Structure and Experience

The TechGirls experience is designed to blend learning, leadership, and cultural exchange.
    Key activities include:
