The GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2026–2027 are now open for applications! This fully funded opportunity aims to support future leaders dedicated to improving public and global health. The scholarships enable outstanding individuals from sub-Saharan Africa to study for a one-year, full-time Master’s degree (MSc) at the prestigious London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) in the United Kingdom.

The GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2026–2027 are designed to develop the next generation of public health leaders in Africa. Sponsored by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), this scholarship provides talented and passionate individuals with the academic and practical skills necessary to contribute to better health outcomes across the continent.
Through this initiative, scholars receive world-class education, professional mentorship, and exposure to global health systems, empowering them to return home equipped to strengthen healthcare delivery, policy, and research in their home countries.

- Deadline: Wednesday, 04 March 2026 at 16:00 (BST)
Applicants are advised to begin early to allow sufficient time to complete both the MSc application and the scholarship submission.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful applicants will receive a fully funded award that covers all costs related to their study at LSHTM. The scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fees, including mandatory field trip costs
- A tax-free living allowance of GBP 22,000 for the 2026–2027 academic year
- Access to academic and professional development opportunities at LSHTM
For the 2026–2027 academic session, three (3) scholarships will be awarded.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the GSK Scholarships for Future Health Leaders 2026–2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a national of and resident in a sub-Saharan African country.
- Commitment: Must intend to return to sub-Saharan Africa after completing their MSc to contribute to health improvement.
- Financial Need: Must demonstrate genuine financial need, confirming that they would not otherwise afford to study at LSHTM.
- Academic Excellence: Must hold a first degree equivalent to a first or upper second-class honors.
- English Proficiency: Must meet LSHTM’s English language requirements (proof to be provided by the specified date).
- Programme Admission: Must have received an offer of admission for an eligible London-based MSc programme at LSHTM for the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Leadership Potential: Applicants should demonstrate strong potential to make meaningful contributions to public health in Africa.
Application Process
The application process consists of two main steps:
Step 1: Apply for Admission
- Submit an application for an eligible MSc programme at LSHTM for the 2026–2027 academic year.
- Ensure all supporting documents (transcripts, references, and English test results) are submitted as required.
Step 2: Apply for the Scholarship
- Once the MSc application is submitted, applicants will receive a link to the LSHTM Scholarships Portal.
- Complete and submit the GSK Scholarship application form before the stated deadline.
- Both applications (MSc and Scholarship) must be completed and submitted by 16:00 (BST) on Wednesday, 04 March 2026.
