The 2026 edition of the Geneva Graduate Study Programme will focus on Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies — exploring their impact on global governance, human rights, sustainable development, peace, and security. Participants will examine the transformative potential of these technologies while addressing ethical, legal, and social implications.

Through lectures, discussions, and group work led by UN officials, academics, and experts, students will develop policy-oriented insights and collaborate on research presentations around the year’s theme.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the United Nations 64th Geneva Graduate Study Programme 2026:

  • Be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (Master’s, PhD, or equivalent).
  • Be between 22 and 32 years old at the time of application.
  • Have completed at least one undergraduate degree (Bachelor’s level).
  • Demonstrate excellent command of English (spoken and written).
  • Must not be employed full-time at the time of application.

Application Requirements

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

  1. A one-page Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  2. A motivation video (maximum 60 seconds) outlining your interest and expectations.
  3. One recommendation letter (maximum one page) from a professor or academic supervisor.
  4. Proof of degree completion (Bachelor’s diploma or equivalent).
  5. Proof of current enrollment in a graduate-level academic programme.
  6. Copy of a valid passport (or national ID for some European nationals).

Financial Information

Participation in the United Nations 64th Geneva Graduate Study Programme 2026 is free of charge — there are no tuition or programme fees.

However, participants are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, meals, and living expenses during their stay in Geneva. The United Nations does not provide financial support or sponsorship for travel or living costs.
