    County Storytellers for Impact Storytelling

    Amref Health Africa is calling for applications for its County Storytellers for Impact Storytelling roster. This initiative aims to recruit skilled storytellers to document and share impact stories across counties, highlighting community voices, frontline workers, and programme results in line with Amref’s 2023–2030 Strategy.

    This is a unique opportunity for journalists, content creators, and digital storytellers to engage with health and development stories at the county level, while producing high-quality multimedia content for social impact.


    About the County Storytellers for Impact Storytelling Programme

    The County Storytellers for Impact Storytelling programme is designed to create a pool of talented individuals who can help Amref Health Africa capture and disseminate compelling stories. Storytellers will focus on documenting programme achievements, community interventions, and human-interest stories through a mix of written, photographic, and video content.

    The goal is to bring community voices to the forefront, showcase programme successes, and provide content suitable for digital platforms, social media, and organizational publications.


    Key Responsibilities

    Selected storytellers will be expected to:

    • Conduct interviews and collect programme impact stories from communities.
    • Capture high-quality photographs and short videos to complement storytelling.
    • Produce digital storytelling content optimized for social media platforms.
    • Document county events and programme achievements comprehensively.
    • Prepare deliverables including:
      • Human-interest stories (600–1,000 words)
      • Photographs (raw and edited)
      • Short videos (30 seconds – 2 minutes)
      • Social-media-ready scripts, captions, quotes, and metadata
    • Maintain detailed field notes to ensure accurate and compelling reporting.

    Eligibility and Requirements

    Ideal candidates should possess:

    • A degree in Communication, Journalism, Media, PR, Digital Media, Multimedia Production, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
    • 2–3 years of relevant experience in storytelling, journalism, communications, digital content creation, community documentation, development communication, or research.
    • Experience documenting health programmes is an advantage.
    • Skills in photo and video editing are highly desirable.

    This programme is well-suited for individuals passionate about storytelling, development, and health communication.
