    The Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholarship Program 2026 offers exceptional funding opportunities for graduate students pursuing global health research at York University, Canada. This prestigious scholarship is designed to support outstanding domestic and international students whose research aligns with the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research’s mission of advancing equitable and sustainable global health.


    About the Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholarship Program 2026

    The Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholarship Program is hosted by the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research at York University. The program supports incoming and continuing graduate students engaged in research that contributes to one or more of the Institute’s three key global health themes:

    1. Planetary Health – exploring the interconnections between human health and the natural systems that sustain life.
    2. Global Health and Humanitarianism – focusing on health equity, human rights, and crisis response.
    3. Global Health Foresighting – investigating emerging global health trends and innovative solutions to future challenges.

    Through this scholarship, York University aims to nurture a new generation of scholars and researchers equipped to tackle global health challenges from multidisciplinary perspectives.


    Scholarship Value and Benefits

    Successful applicants to the Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholarship Program 2026 will receive funding between CAD 5,000 and CAD 30,000 per year, depending on academic merit, financial need, and available funds.

    Beyond financial support, awardees will receive the distinguished title of “Dahdaleh Graduate Global Health Scholar.” Scholars also enjoy access to a vibrant research environment and numerous opportunities, including:

    • Participation in weekly Global Health Research Seminars at the Dahdaleh Institute.
    • Opportunities to present research annually, such as during the Dahdaleh Scholars Symposium or other academic events.
    • Access to an open workspace at the Institute.
    • Invitations to specialized workshops and events that foster collaboration, mentorship, and professional development.

    This comprehensive support system provides both academic enrichment and professional exposure, ensuring scholars make impactful contributions to global health research.


    Eligibility Criteria

    The scholarship is open to both domestic and international students pursuing graduate studies (Master’s or PhD) at York University. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Be enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a graduate program within eligible York University faculties, such as:
      • Health
      • Environmental & Urban Change
      • Science
      • Law
      • Engineering
      • Arts, Liberal Studies, and Education
    • Master’s Students: Eligible for up to one or two years of funding, depending on program duration.
    • PhD Students: Eligible if in years 1–3 of their program (up to four years of funding). Doctoral students beyond the third year are not eligible.
    • Conduct research aligned with at least one of the Dahdaleh Institute’s three global health themes.

    Note: Part-time students may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

    Selection Criteria

    The Dahdaleh Institute Scholarship Committee reviews all applications based on the following key factors:

    • Academic excellence and scholarly achievements.
    • Research potential and the quality of the proposed project.
    • Relevance and alignment of the proposed research with the Institute’s focus areas.
    • Leadership, innovation, and initiative demonstrated in academic or professional contexts.

    Application Deadline

    The deadline for the Dahdaleh Global Health Graduate Scholarship Program 2026 is Friday, January 16, 2026 (noon ET). Applicants are encouraged to submit their materials early to ensure eligibility and completeness of documentation.
