Walmart Spark Good Local Grants 2025

    Deadline: December 31, 2025

The Walmart Spark Good Local Grants 2025 programme is now open, offering funding support to community-based organisations across the United States. This initiative provides small to medium local grants ranging from US$250 to US$5,000, empowering eligible organisations to deliver projects that strengthen and support their communities. The current application window remains open until 31 December 2025, giving applicants a final opportunity this year to submit their proposals. The Walmart Spark Good Local Grants 2025 programme continues to support impactful, locally driven initiatives that address pressing community needs.

About the Walmart Spark Good Local Grants 2025

Spark Good Local Grants are designed to support organisations that directly serve their local communities. Grants are issued by individual Walmart stores, Sam’s Clubs, or distribution centres, ensuring that funding reaches initiatives within the facility’s service area. Each eligible organisation may apply once per facility per fiscal year, and applications are reviewed on a rolling, quarterly basis.

    The 2025 application windows are:

    • March 10 – April 15
    • May 1 – July 15
    • August 1 – October 15
    • November 3 – December 31

Grant amounts range from US$250 to US$5,000, depending on the needs and scale of the proposed project.

    Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the Spark Good Local Grants, applicants must fall within one of the following eligible categories:

    Eligible Organisations

    • 501(c)(3) public charities listed on the IRS Master File.
    • Government entities, including federal, state, and local agencies as well as political subdivisions.
    • Schools, including public K–12, charter schools, nonprofit private schools, community/junior colleges, and universities (must have a 501(c)(3) status or an NCES number).
    • Faith-based organisations, provided the proposed project serves the broader community beyond the congregation (e.g., food pantries, soup kitchens, clothing distribution).

    Ineligible Organisations

The following groups are not eligible:

    • 501(c)(4), 501(c)(6), and similar non-charity organisations.
    • Homeowner associations, civic leagues, volunteer fire companies, and other non-charitable entities.

    Additional Eligibility Requirements

    • Organisations must have a verified Spark Good account, authenticated via the third-party verifier Deed.
    • Only authorised users of the organisation’s Spark Good account may submit an application.
    • The project must serve the same local area as the Walmart or Sam’s Club facility being applied to.

    Programme Rules and Funding Conditions

    • Organisations may have up to 25 active or approved applications across facilities at any given time.
    • Once a facility awards a grant to an organisation, that organisation cannot reapply to the same facility within the same fiscal year.
    • All approved funds are distributed electronically via JP Morgan after banking information is correctly provided.
    • Funding decisions are made at the discretion of facility managers based on:
      • Alignment between the project and community needs.
      • Clarity of project description and intended impact.
      • Demonstrated organisational trustworthiness and compliance.

Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Each application undergoes a thorough eligibility and suitability review.

    Funding Focus Areas

The Spark Good Local Grants support a wide range of community-enhancing initiatives, including but not limited to:

    • Youth development and mentorship programmes
    • Community engagement and support services
    • Food security and hunger-relief efforts
    • Educational programmes and school-based initiatives
    • Health, wellness, and social welfare projects
    • Faith-based community outreach (non-religious activities benefiting the public)

This funding programme is ideal for small and medium-scale projects that produce measurable, localised impact.
