    Stanford Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026

    The Stanford Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 offers an exceptional opportunity for scholars passionate about financial literacy, decision-making, and behavioral economics. Hosted by the Initiative for Financial Decision-Making (IFDM) at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, this fellowship aims to advance empirical research in financial literacy and decision-making, building on prior work by the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC).


    About the Stanford Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026

    The Stanford Postdoctoral Fellowship 2026 focuses on empirical research in financial literacy, financial education, and decision-making. It provides early-career researchers with the platform to collaborate with leading experts, contribute to impactful research, and participate in academic activities within Stanford’s dynamic intellectual environment.

    Fellows will join a highly collaborative research network and contribute to projects that bridge academic research and real-world financial policy. This program is ideal for individuals seeking to develop a strong academic career or policy-oriented research foundation in financial decision-making.


    Fellowship Eligibility

    Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

    • Hold a Ph.D. in Economics, Finance, or a related discipline.
    • Demonstrate excellence in teaching at the college or graduate level.
    • Possess strong empirical research skills and an interest in financial literacy and decision-making.

    International applicants are welcome and may be sponsored for J-1 visas. Those eligible for OPT are encouraged to use it during the fellowship period.


    Fellowship Benefits

    Selected fellows will receive:

    • Annual salary: Between USD $90,000 and $105,000.
    • Duration: One-year appointment, with a possibility of renewal. A two-year term is strongly preferred.
    • Start date: As soon as possible and no later than July 1, 2026.

    This program provides an immersive research and teaching experience within one of the world’s top business schools, offering the resources and mentorship necessary to advance high-impact research in financial behavior and education.

    Required Application Materials:

    1. Cover letter describing teaching experience and qualifications.
    2. Current Curriculum Vitae (CV).
    3. Teaching evaluations (if available).
    4. Three letters of recommendation addressing both teaching experience and research qualifications.
