The Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers 2025 supports outstanding students who intend to pursue a career as high-school physics educators in the United States. About the Opportunity

The Barbara Lotze Scholarship for Future Physics Teachers 2025 is administered by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT). Funded through an endowment from Barbara Lotze, the award aims to strengthen the pipeline of qualified physics teachers across the United States. Successful applicants receive both financial support and access to AAPT resources that enhance their training and professional development. The scholarship may be renewed for up to four years, depending on continued eligibility and academic progress.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Intend to become a high-school physics teacher.
    • Be a U.S. citizen.
    • Be a current undergraduate student enrolled in a two- or four-year U.S. college or university, or a high-school senior accepted into such an institution.

    • Demonstrate strong academic ability and potential for success as a physics educator.
