    The Sanofi Foundation’s 2025 Climate Action & Health Resilience Grants program is now open for applications. This initiative provides crucial funding to local and regional NGOs working at the intersection of climate change and health in Africa and Asia. With grants ranging from €50,000 to €100,000 per project, this opportunity aims to strengthen community resilience, promote equitable access to healthcare, and support sustainable adaptation solutions.


    About the Sanofi Foundation’s 2025 Climate Action & Health Resilience Grants

    The 2025 Climate Action & Health Resilience Grants by the Sanofi Foundation—also known as Foundation S—focuses on empowering local organizations tackling the growing impacts of climate change on health systems. This initiative emphasizes community-led solutions that build resilience, improve health outcomes, and strengthen adaptation strategies for vulnerable populations.

    Grant funding is available for a period of 12 to 24 months, with the possibility of a 12-month extension. Each approved project will receive between €50,000 and €100,000, with at least 80% of the total budget required to be implemented locally.


    Priority Areas of Focus

    Projects applying for the Sanofi Foundation’s 2025 Climate Action & Health Resilience Grants must address one or more of the following focus areas:

    • Strengthening community health systems to effectively respond to the health impacts of extreme heat, air pollution, and other climate-related challenges.
    • Promoting the use of science, data, technology, and artificial intelligence to support climate adaptation and early warning systems in healthcare.
    • Encouraging equity, inclusion, and local leadership, with particular attention to women and youth participation in project implementation.
    • Supporting scalable and sustainable interventions that have measurable long-term impact.
    • Promoting collaboration with national or local government agencies in health and environmental sectors to enhance sustainability and alignment with public policies.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The Sanofi Foundation’s 2025 Climate Action & Health Resilience Grants are open to organizations that meet the following eligibility requirements:

    • Applicants must be registered NGOs, community-based organizations (CBOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), or national and international NGOs with strong local partnerships.
    • Projects must be implemented in one of the eligible African or Asian countries listed below.
    • Proposed activities must demonstrate clear impact pathways linking climate action and health resilience.
    • At least 80% of the total project budget must be utilized within the target country.

    Eligible Countries

    Africa:
    Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Togo, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

    Asia:
    Cambodia, Laos, Nepal, and Pakistan.


    Grant Amount and Duration

    Each selected project will receive €50,000 to €100,000 in funding to be implemented over a period of 12 to 24 months. Projects demonstrating strong performance and sustainable outcomes may qualify for an additional 12-month extension. The majority of the funds (minimum 80%) must be spent locally to ensure tangible community-level impact.


    Expected Project Outcomes

    Funded projects are expected to:

    • Strengthen community health systems and improve resilience to climate-induced challenges.
    • Integrate technology, innovation, and local data into early warning and health response systems.
    • Promote equitable access to healthcare for marginalized and climate-affected populations.
    • Contribute to the global dialogue on climate-health adaptation through local leadership and evidence-based results.

    Interested organizations are encouraged to carefully review the Call for Proposals before applying. Applicants must prepare a concept note or complete the online application form as outlined in the guidelines.

    • Funding Period: 12–24 months (with possible 12-month extension)
