    NAEng Innovation Competition 2025

    The NAEng Innovation Competition 2025 is now open for applications! The prestigious initiative by the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAEng) seeks to identify, encourage, and reward outstanding innovations and technological solutions developed by Nigerian engineers, technologists, and scientists.

    This annual competition aims to promote creativity, problem-solving, and technological development across various sectors critical to Nigeria’s growth and sustainability.


    About the NAEng Innovation Competition 2025

    The NAEng Innovation Competition 2025 provides a platform for Nigerian innovators to showcase their ideas, inventions, and engineering solutions that can address real-world challenges. Through this initiative, the Nigerian Academy of Engineering continues to strengthen its mission of promoting engineering excellence, innovation, and sustainable national development.

    The competition covers multiple sectors including:

    • ICT and Telecommunications
    • Agriculture and Food Processing
    • Energy and Renewable Resources
    • Infrastructure Development
    • Health and Biomedical Technology
    • Waste Management and Environmental Solutions
    • Transportation and Logistics
    • Mining and Industrial Processing
    • Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
    • Climate Change and Sustainability
    • Manufacturing and Production Systems

    Participants are expected to submit innovations that demonstrate technical content, feasibility, and relevance to national challenges.


    Competition Format

    The competition will be conducted in two stages:

    1. Stage One – Concept Note Submission:
      Applicants will submit a concise Concept Note detailing their innovation, objectives, and potential impact.
    2. Stage Two – Full Proposal Submission:
      Shortlisted candidates from the first stage will be invited to submit a detailed proposal, including prototype evidence, implementation plan, and sustainability outlook.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The competition is open to all Nigerian citizens (except Fellows of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering). Eligible participants include:

    • Engineers, scientists, technologists, technicians, and craftsmen
    • Individuals or teams working on innovative projects
    • Applicants with projects that demonstrate clear engineering or technological content

    Submissions must:

    • Address a clearly identified national or community problem
    • Include evidence of an existing prototype, model, or concept under development
    • Be original and demonstrate potential for scalability and commercialization

    Timeline and Key Dates

    Below are the official timelines for the NAEng Innovation Competition 2025:

    • Opening Date for Concept Note Submission: October 20, 2025
    • Deadline for Concept Note Submission: December 19, 2025
    • Shortlisted Candidates Invited for Full Proposal: January 15 – March 13, 2026
    • Announcement of Winners: June 2026

    Applicants are strongly encouraged to adhere strictly to these deadlines to ensure successful participation.
