    The GREAT Scholarships 2026-2027 present an exceptional opportunity for outstanding students from eligible countries to pursue postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. Jointly funded by the UK Government’s GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK universities, this scholarship aims to support highly motivated students who wish to develop academically and professionally in one of the world’s leading higher education destinations.


    About the GREAT Scholarships 2026-2027

    The GREAT Scholarships 2026-2027 offer more than 140 scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year, in partnership with over 60 universities across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

    Each scholarship is worth £10,000, which goes directly toward tuition fees for a one-year postgraduate taught degree. This initiative provides talented students with the opportunity to gain advanced academic knowledge and engage with the UK’s world-class educational system.


    Participating Countries

    The scholarships are available to students from the following countries:

    Bangladesh, China, Egypt, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam.

    Applicants must be citizens and residents of any of the above countries at the time of application.


    Scholarship Value and Duration

    • Scholarship Amount: £10,000
    • Coverage: Tuition fees for one academic year only
    • Duration: One-year postgraduate taught programme

    The scholarship helps reduce the financial burden of studying in the UK while allowing scholars to focus on their studies and professional development.


    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the GREAT Scholarships 2026-2027, applicants must:

    • Be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries.
    • Hold an undergraduate degree that enables them to gain admission into a postgraduate programme in the UK.
    • Meet the English language requirements of the UK higher education institution.
    • Show a strong motivation and interest in studying in the UK, along with a clear understanding of how their academic experience will contribute to their career goals.
    • Be willing to attend a welcome event in the first semester and a networking event in the second semester of their study year.
    • Maintain contact with the British Council and their higher education institution, and act as an ambassador for the GREAT Scholarships, sharing their experience with future applicants.

    Host Institutions

    Over 60 universities in the United Kingdom are participating in the programme. These institutions span across England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, offering a wide range of courses in various disciplines. Each participating university has its own application deadline and eligibility requirements; hence, applicants are advised to check specific details directly from the university they intend to apply to.
