    Deadline: November 15, 2025

The World Water Council (WWC) Youth Delegate Programme 2026–2028 is an incredible opportunity for young leaders passionate about global water governance, sustainability, and youth participation in decision-making. This prestigious programme seeks to empower emerging voices from across the world to contribute meaningfully to international dialogues on water and sustainable development. The WWC Youth Delegate Programme 2026–2028 offers a dynamic platform for youth engagement at the highest levels of water policy and advocacy.

    About the Opportunity

The WWC Youth Delegate Programme engages selected youth delegates in all major activities of the World Water Council. Through the programme, participants will:

This initiative creates a bridge between experienced water leaders and emerging youth advocates, ensuring that young voices play a key role in shaping the future of water-related policies and practices globally.

    Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the WWC Youth Delegate Programme 2026–2028:

    • Be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.
    • Represent a youth-focused or water-related organisation in their region.
    • Reside in the region they seek to represent.
    • Possess strong communication and leadership skills, with proficiency in English.

The WWC encourages applicants who demonstrate a deep commitment to sustainable water management, youth empowerment, and international collaboration.

    Benefits of the Programme

    • The Youth Delegate position is unpaid, but all travel expenses will be covered by the World Water Council for official engagements and meetings, where applicable.
    • Delegates will gain international exposure through participation in global events and policymaking processes.
    • Participants will develop leadership, networking, and advocacy skills within an international framework.
    • The experience offers unparalleled opportunities to connect with water professionals, decision-makers, and youth organisations worldwide.

    Application Requirements

Interested applicants should prepare the following:

    • A CV or résumé highlighting relevant experience in youth leadership, sustainability, or water-related initiatives.
    • A motivation statement describing their passion for water governance and how they can contribute as a youth delegate.
    • Details of their organisational affiliation, particularly their involvement with youth or environmental causes.

Applicants are advised to carefully review the requirements before submitting their materials.

    Timeline and Key Dates

    • Application Deadline: 15 November 2025 (23:59 CET)
Successful candidates will be notified following a selection process that ensures global representation and diversity across regions.

    Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by the World Water Council’s selection committee. The process prioritises regional balance, gender equity, and the inclusion of active youth advocates. Selected delegates will serve a two-year term (2026–2028), contributing to WWC’s global mission and participating in its key events and initiatives.

    Host Organisation

The World Water Council (WWC) is an international multi-stakeholder platform founded in 1996 with the mission to promote awareness, build political commitment, and trigger action on critical water issues worldwide. The WWC brings together governments, organisations, and experts to advance sustainable water management practices through policy dialogue and collaboration.
