About the Opportunity

Organised by Continental Reinsurance Plc, the awards were established to acknowledge journalists who produce high-quality, fact-based, and insightful content that enhances conversations around risk mitigation and resilience. The competition is open to journalists working in print, online, radio, television, and social media across Africa, publishing in English, French, or Arabic.

Eligibility

  • Open to journalists based in any African country.
  • Entries must be published or broadcast in English, French, or Arabic.
  • Only one entry per category per applicant is allowed.
  • Submissions must be original works published within the 12-month period leading up to the deadline.

Application Requirements / Documents

Applicants must submit:

  • A published article, broadcast clip, or digital media entry related to insurance or re-insurance.
  • A short motivation statement (approx. 100 words) explaining the purpose and relevance of the submitted work.
  • Full personal details including name, media house, email, country, date of publication, and a 50–100 word profile.
  • A passport-quality photograph.
  • Confirmation that only one entry has been submitted per category.
