About the McCall MacBain International Fellowships 2026–2027

The McCall MacBain International Fellowships 2026–2027 are designed for young leaders who wish to expand their worldviews and make a meaningful impact through international experiences. The programme offers an immersive year abroad divided into three distinct terms:

  1. Language Term:
Fellows spend the first phase learning a new language intensively, often while living with a host family and volunteering with a local organisation. This period focuses on cultural understanding and community engagement.
  2. Academic Term:
During this stage, fellows enrol full-time in academic courses at a host university abroad, using their newly acquired language skills in a real educational setting.
  3. Work Term:
The final phase involves a full-time paid work placement or internship abroad, allowing fellows to apply their academic and language experience in a professional context.

Each term contributes to building well-rounded, globally minded individuals capable of leadership and cross-cultural collaboration.

Fellowship Value

Selected fellows will receive up to CAD $30,000 in funding. This support covers expenses such as tuition, living costs, language training, travel, and other related expenses during the fellowship year.
