    Deadline: December 1, 2025

Applications are now open for the Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026 at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH). This prestigious and fully funded fellowship offers passionate public health professionals the opportunity to advance their expertise through the world-renowned MPH or DrPH degree programmes at JHSPH.

The Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026 seeks to build a network of public health leaders who are committed to tackling some of the most pressing challenges affecting communities across the United States. Through collaboration between the School and partner organisations, Fellows gain access to cutting-edge research, professional development opportunities, and real-world public health problem-solving.

    Fellowship Objectives

The programme aims to create a new generation of public health professionals who will drive change in their communities and institutions. Fellows and their sponsoring organisations work together to develop innovative, sustainable solutions to health issues through evidence-based interventions and policy reforms.

    Host Institution

Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH)
Located in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, JHSPH is the oldest and largest school of public health in the world, known for its excellence in research, education, and leadership training.

    Application Deadline

    1 December 2025

Interested applicants are encouraged to begin their applications early to ensure sufficient time to complete all required forms and documentation.

    Fellowship Focus Areas

The Bloomberg Fellows Program focuses on five critical public health areas that have widespread impact in the United States. Applicants must be professionally engaged in one of these areas:

    1. Addiction and Overdose – Addressing substance use disorders and their devastating consequences.
    2. Adolescent Health – Promoting physical, emotional, and social well-being among young people.
    3. Environmental Challenges – Tackling issues that threaten public health due to environmental hazards.
    4. Food Systems for Health – Ensuring sustainable, healthy, and equitable food systems.
    5. Violence – Preventing and responding to all forms of violence affecting individuals and communities.

    Fellowship Benefits

Successful applicants to the Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026 receive a full scholarship to pursue either a Master of Public Health (MPH) or Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree at JHSPH.

    Benefits include:

    • Full tuition coverage for the duration of the degree programme.
    • Access to world-class faculty, research facilities, and public health networks.
    • Participation in a national fellowship network that connects academic experts with community-based organisations to implement real-world solutions.
    • Ongoing professional development and mentorship throughout the programme.

    Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026, applicants must:

    • Be currently working with an organisation that aligns with one of the five focus areas listed above.
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to advancing public health in their field of work.
    • Have their organisation agree to collaborate with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health throughout the fellowship.
    • Ensure that both the applicant’s and the organisation’s work are based in the United States.

Note: Individuals and organisations located outside the U.S. are not eligible for this particular fellowship.

    Application Process

The application process for the Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026 consists of two main components:

    1. Apply for Admission
      • Candidates must apply to the MPH or DrPH programme through the Schools of Public Health Application Service (SOPHAS).
      • The academic application must be completed and submitted before the fellowship deadline.
    2. Submit Fellowship Forms
      • The Bloomberg Fellows Program Applicant Form and the Collaborating Organisation Form must both be completed.
      • These forms confirm the applicant’s eligibility, focus area, and commitment from their partnering organisation.

Both components are essential to be considered for selection.

    Important Considerations

    • Applicants should ensure that their chosen organisation has a strong track record of work in one of the five focus areas.
    • The organisation must agree to collaborate with Johns Hopkins and support the applicant during and after their studies.
    • This fellowship is open only to U.S.-based professionals and organisations.
    • As the fellowship covers all tuition costs, competition is highly selective—early preparation is crucial.

Why Apply for the Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026?

The Bloomberg Fellows Program 2025-2026 offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain advanced knowledge, practical experience, and a powerful professional network in public health. Fellows graduate not only with a world-class degree but also with the tools and partnerships needed to make meaningful, lasting impact in their communities.
