    Are you an early-career female researcher passionate about using data science to improve women’s health? The Data Science to Advance Women’s Health Fellowship 2026 is an incredible opportunity to receive advanced training, mentorship, and research support while contributing to transformative solutions for women’s health challenges across Eastern and Southern Africa.

    This nine-month fellowship brings together 20 talented female scholars for an immersive capacity-building programme, designed to strengthen research outputs and increase representation in the field of data science.


    About the Data Science to Advance Women’s Health Fellowship 2026

    The Data Science to Advance Women’s Health Fellowship 2026 (DSAWH Fellowship) aims to equip early-career female researchers with the essential skills to leverage modern data science techniques to address critical health issues affecting women. It is hosted by Data Science Africa (DSA) and provides a unique blend of academic training, hands-on research development, and professional mentorship.

    The fellowship targets female postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers who are working on women’s health projects in Eastern and Southern Africa. Over the course of nine months, selected fellows will gain technical skills, receive publication support, and build strong networks to amplify their impact in health research.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Academic Background: Be enrolled in a Master’s or Doctorate programme, or working as a post-graduate researcher focusing on women’s health.
    • Research Experience: Have at least a draft of a first-authored research paper ready for refinement and submission.

    Fellowship Duration

    • Programme Length: 9 months
      During this period, fellows will participate in training sessions, mentorship programmes, and research dissemination activities that aim to significantly boost their academic and professional profile.
