Overview of the British Embassy Paris Internship 2025-2026
The British Embassy Paris Internship 2025-2026 is a 4-month fixed-term internship based in Paris, France. Successful applicants will work full-time (35 hours per week) and receive a monthly stipend of €1,000 gross, plus a contribution towards meals.
This is a highly competitive internship designed to offer students and young professionals valuable insights into diplomacy, economics, communications, and foreign policy.

Available Internship Teams
The Embassy is recruiting three interns, one for each of the following sections:
- Economics & Political Section
Focuses on economic analysis, political reporting, and supporting the Embassy’s policy work. - National Security & Foreign Policy
Involves research, reporting, and supporting security and foreign policy initiatives between the UK and France. - Communications & Engagement
Works on media monitoring, public engagement, social media, and supporting outreach campaigns.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Language Proficiency: Excellent French and English skills (minimum C1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Academic Background: Currently enrolled in a university programme related to Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Journalism or other relevant fields.
- Internship Agreement: Ability to provide a “Convention de stage” (internship agreement) from your university or higher education institution.
- Interest in UK–France Relations: A demonstrated passion for diplomacy, politics, economics, and foreign policy.
- Technical Skills: Competence in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Research & Analytical Skills: Ability to carry out detailed research and analysis, take initiative, and maintain excellent attention to detail.
- Soft Skills: Strong organisational skills, flexibility, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative team spirit.
Key Responsibilities
As an intern, your role may vary depending on the team, but general responsibilities include:
- Conducting analytical and research tasks relevant to team objectives.
- Supporting communication, organisational and administrative activities within the Embassy.
- Assisting in drafting reports, monitoring media, and contributing to Embassy events and outreach.
- Working under the guidance of a manager and contributing to key Embassy projects.
