The Women Deliver 2026 Conference (WD2026) Media Scholarships present a golden opportunity to attend one of the world’s largest global gatherings on gender equality and women’s rights—fully funded.

The WD2026 Media Scholarships will support diverse storytellers and media practitioners to cover the Women Deliver 2026 Conference scheduled for 27 – 30 April 2026 in Narrm (Melbourne), Australia.


What the WD2026 Media Scholarships Cover

Successful applicants will receive a fully funded package, which includes:

  • Full conference registration.
  • Hotel accommodation from 26 – 30 April 2026.
  • Round-trip economy airfare.
  • Visa fees and associated costs.
  • Per diems to cover local transportation and meals.
  • Travel insurance.

Eligibility Criteria

The WD2026 Media Scholarships are open to a broad range of professionals, including:

  • Reporters, editors, producers, and news anchors.
  • Photojournalists, videographers, and broadcast crews.
  • Podcast and radio journalists, as well as newsroom social and visual teams.
  • Freelance journalists with a commissioning or assignment letter.
  • Content creators producing independent, factual coverage of social issues.

Priority Will Be Given To

  • Journalists and creators covering gender equality, health, human rights, climate justice, and development issues relevant to Oceania Pacific.
  • First Nations and Indigenous journalists and content creators.
  • Members of marginalised groups, including LGBTQIA+ persons, people with disabilities, refugees, internally displaced persons, and those from under-resourced communities.
  • Early-career journalists and creators.
  • Applicants who have never received a Women Deliver Conference Scholarship before.

Expectations of Scholarship Recipients

Selected scholars will be required to:

  • Participate fully in the WD2026 Conference, including media briefings.
  • Take part in virtual pre-event sessions where required.
  • Publish and share coverage of WD2026 (articles, broadcasts, or digital content) with Women Deliver in a timely manner.
  • Respect all conference guidelines, including embargoes and restrictions on photography, filming, and room-specific rules.
  • Abide by the WD2026 Code of Conduct.
