    Climate Innovation Accelerator Asia Cohort 2025

    The WFP Innovation Accelerator, in partnership with the Adaptation Fund, has launched the Climate Innovation Accelerator Asia Cohort 2025. This programme provides vital support for innovative solutions that advance climate adaptation and resilience. From 2024–2029, four regional cohorts will be implemented, with the 2025 edition focusing specifically on Asia.

    This round targets projects in Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines, offering innovators the opportunity to scale their ideas with funding and technical expertise.


    Benefits of the Programme

    Selected ventures in the WFP Innovation Accelerator x Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator Asia Cohort 2025 will receive:

    • Funding Support: Up to US$200,000 in equity-free grants per startup.
    • Sprint Programme: A nine-month tailored acceleration programme, including mentoring, business-oriented training, and technical assistance.
    • Global Visibility: Access to international exposure through WFP’s networks and communication channels.
    • Field Access: Opportunities to test, pilot, or expand operations with direct support from WFP field offices in target countries.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the Climate Innovation Accelerator Asia Cohort 2025, applicants must meet the following conditions:

    • Be a legally registered entity (for-profit, non-profit/social enterprise, NGO/INGO).
    • Have an established presence, or be willing to establish one, in Nepal, Pakistan, or the Philippines.
    • Present an innovation addressing key climate adaptation challenges in the selected country.
    • Be beyond the idea stage – minimum seed stage. Pre-seed or purely conceptual projects are not eligible.
    • Demonstrate a clear pathway to scale and the ability to deliver results within the nine-month sprint programme.
    • Show environmental and social sustainability, aligning with the Adaptation Fund’s framework.
    • Incorporate gender and social inclusion into the innovation design and implementation.

    Evaluation Criteria

    Applications will be assessed on:

    • Innovation and Novelty – originality of the solution.
    • Relevance to Context – addressing climate challenges specific to the target country.
    • Scalability and Financial Sustainability – growth potential beyond the sprint.
    • Impact – measurable benefits for communities and ecosystems.
    • Team Strength – ability and experience of the founding/management team.
    • Environmental and Social Sustainability – compliance with safeguards.
    • Gender and Inclusion – commitment to equitable benefits across communities.
