    About the UK PACT Nature-based Solutions in Kenya Programme

    The UK PACT Nature-based Solutions in Kenya programme focuses on supporting technical assistance and capacity building projects in the area of climate and nature. Successful projects will help drive systemic change in:

    • Climate policy and governance
    • Sustainable land use and management
    • Ecosystem restoration and protection
    • Integrating nature-based solutions into Kenya’s development priorities

    By strengthening local institutions and empowering communities, the programme aims to advance Kenya’s climate transition while promoting inclusive and equitable development.


    Funding Information

    • Total funding available per project: Between £400,000 and £650,000
    • Funding schedule:
      • Up to £150,000 for activities implemented between January and March 2026
      • The remaining allocation (up to £500,000) for activities between April 2026 and March 2027

    This phased funding approach ensures early momentum while supporting longer-term project delivery.


    Eligibility Criteria

    The programme welcomes proposals from a wide range of organisations, including:

    • Think tanks and consultancies
    • Academic and research institutions
    • NGOs and community-based organisations
    • Professional associations

    Who Cannot Apply

    • Government agencies or departments
    • State-owned enterprises
    • Government-controlled entities

    Priority Consideration

    Preference will be given to:

    • Consortia that include local Kenyan organisations
    • Organisations that are women-owned, youth-owned, or owned by persons with disabilities
