Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Gilman-McCain Scholarship October 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or national.
- Academic Status: Must be an undergraduate student in good standing at a U.S. 2-year or 4-year institution.
- Military Dependents: Must be the child or spouse of active or activated U.S. military personnel.
- Financial Aid: Must be receiving, or be eligible for, Title IV federal financial aid at the time of application, or show proof that such aid will apply to their chosen study abroad or internship programme.
- Programme Acceptance: Must apply or be accepted into a credit-bearing study abroad or internship programme. Proof of acceptance is required before funds are disbursed.
- Destination: The programme must be in a country or region with a U.S. Department of State Travel Advisory Level 1 or 2. Locations with Level 3 or 4 advisories are not permitted, even within otherwise eligible countries.
