    Are you passionate about digital health and youth leadership in Africa? The Africa CDC Youth Digital Health Champions Program 2025 is now open for applications. This prestigious initiative, organised by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) through its Youth in Digital Health Network (YiDHN), seeks to empower young innovators and changemakers driving digital health solutions across the continent.


    About the Africa CDC Youth Digital Health Champions Program 2025

    The Youth Digital Health Champions (YDH-C) Program is designed to foster youth-driven innovation and leadership in digital health. It provides a platform for capacity building in digital literacy, governance, and policy engagement, while spotlighting young champions who are shaping Africa’s health future.

    Selected champions will join a vibrant network of peers, gain exposure across Africa CDC platforms, and contribute to strategic dialogues and initiatives that accelerate digital health transformation in Africa.


    Application Deadline

    Applications close on September 14, 2025, at 11:00 PM GMT+3. Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to apply early to avoid last-minute technical challenges.

    • Scaling support, including access to seed funding, accelerator programs, and strategic partnerships.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for the Africa CDC Youth Digital Health Champions Program 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Age: Between 18 and 35 years at the time of application.
    • Nationality: Citizens of African Union Member States; Africans in the diaspora are also eligible.
    • Language: Proficiency in at least one of English, French, Arabic, or Portuguese (cross-lingual skills are an added advantage).
    • Engagement: Active involvement in one or more of the following digital health areas:
      • Innovation and entrepreneurship (e.g., startups, app development)
      • Research and academia
      • Public health initiatives using digital tools
      • Policy advocacy and development
      • Capacity building and digital literacy projects

    Selection Criteria

    Applications will be evaluated on three main criteria:

    1. Leadership & Initiative (45%) – Demonstrated leadership experience, resilience, and active engagement in YiDHN’s focus areas.
    2. Impact & Innovation (25%) – Evidence of tangible achievements or innovative contributions to digital health.
    3. Motivation & Potential (30%) – Strong interest and readiness to engage in YiDHN activities such as webinars, capacity-building, and policy discussions.

    Application Requirements

    Applicants must submit the following:

    • A completed application form.
    • A CV or résumé (maximum 2 pages).
    • One letter of recommendation.
    • Optional: links to published work, projects, or media features that highlight their contribution to digital health.
