    The Technology for Evolving Challenges in Humanitarian Contexts: TECH 4 Resilience Challenge 2025 is a global innovation call seeking Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven solutions to strengthen resilience in humanitarian settings. With up to USD 50,000 in funding, along with leadership training and mentoring, the challenge aims to empower innovators to tackle extreme climate events and enhance anticipatory action frameworks in vulnerable communities.

    Organised by the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and supported by the Trafigura Foundation, this challenge focuses on practical, scalable, and impactful AI solutions for low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).


    Challenge Objective

    The TECH 4 Resilience Challenge 2025 is designed to:

    • Mitigate impacts of extreme climate events in emergency settings.
    • Strengthen Anticipatory Action (AA) systems to prevent crises before they escalate.
    • Harness AI technologies to deliver practical, evidence-based, and context-appropriate interventions.
    • Support implementation in ODA-eligible LMICs, excluding Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea region of Ukraine.

    Eligibility Criteria

    The challenge is open to:

    • For-profit and non-profit organisations with AI-driven innovations.
    • Projects addressing climate-related emergencies or improving anticipatory action frameworks.
    • Initiatives that are implementable in ODA-eligible LMICs (full OECD-DAC list applies).
    • Solutions that exclude operations in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea region.

    Target Applicants:
    Innovators, entrepreneurs, humanitarian actors, and tech-driven organisations with tested or prototype-ready AI solutions.


    What Winners Will Receive

    Successful applicants will benefit from:

    • Up to USD 50,000 in funding for project scaling.
    • Access to a tailored leadership and mentoring programme.
    • Communications support to amplify impact stories.
    • Guidance and preparation for pitching to potential funders and investors.
    • Ongoing mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) support during implementation in 2026.
