    The BIGD Young Researchers’ Fellowship 2025 offers a unique opportunity for young Bangladeshi graduates to gain hands-on experience in social science research, sharpen their analytical skills, and receive mentorship from senior experts. This prestigious fellowship, organised by the BRAC Institute of Governance and Development (BIGD), is now accepting applications for its Quantitative Stream until 20 August 2025.

    Overview of the BIGD Young Researchers’ Fellowship 2025

    The Young Researchers’ Fellowship (YRF) is a four-month intensive programme designed to equip participants with practical skills in applied research methods. It combines:

    • Training in quantitative social science research methods.
    • Hands-on research experience on live projects.
    • One-on-one mentorship from experienced researchers.

    During the fellowship, selected candidates will work full-time as Trainee Research Associates (TRA) at BIGD. Outstanding fellows may be considered for full-time positions as Research Associates after successful completion.

    Eligibility Criteria

    To be considered for the BIGD Young Researchers’ Fellowship 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Nationality: Must be a Bangladeshi citizen.
    • Age Limit: 30 years or younger.
    • Educational Qualification:
      • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university.
      • Minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Academic & Professional Background:
      Candidates from Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
      Applicants with interests or experience in data analytics, machine learning, or computational methods for social science research are especially welcome.
    • Core Skills:
      • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
      • Interest in research tools and current global issues.
      • Commitment to academic integrity and respectful collaboration.
    • Preferred Qualities:
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      • Effective interpersonal skills.
      • Prior research experience (an added advantage).
