What is the UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest 2025?
The UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest 2025 is organised by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It’s an international initiative aimed at raising awareness about global hunger, nutrition, and sustainable agriculture—through the powerful medium of youth artwork.
Participants are encouraged to visually express how partnerships between people, communities, and nature can help ensure a better food future for all.
Who Can Participate?
The contest is open to children and youth from all countries, between the ages of 5 and 19. Entrants will compete in the following age categories:
- 5–8 years
- 9–12 years
- 13–15 years
- 16–19 years
Parental or guardian consent is required for minors, and each participant must indicate their age at the time of entry.
Theme: “Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future”
This year’s theme encourages creative reflections on cooperation, sustainability, equity, and food security. Young artists are invited to imagine a world where humans and nature thrive together to produce better food systems and foster peace.
Submission Guidelines
Participants must follow the guidelines carefully to avoid disqualification:
- One entry per person
- Mediums allowed:
- Hand-drawn (crayons, pencils, ink, charcoal, paint, mixed media)
- Digital art (not photorealistic)
- AI use:
- Permitted only for ideation or editing
- Final artwork must be artist-created (AI-generated posters will be disqualified)
- AI use must be clearly disclosed
- Photography is not allowed
- Text limit on poster:
- Optional
- Must not exceed 25 words or 100 characters
- Must not include personal information, such as name, school, age, or logos
- Format for submission: JPEG scan or photo of the original poster
- Maximum file size: 1.5 MB
Deadline and Timeline
- Submission Deadline: 7 November 2025
- Announcement of Winners: December 2025
Prizes and Recognition
Winners of the UN FAO World Food Day Poster Contest 2025 will receive:
