Deadline: August 20, 2025

The 2025 Social Forum of the UN Human Rights Council presents a unique opportunity for civil society, Member States, UN bodies, and intergovernmental organisations to contribute meaningfully to global human rights discourse. This year’s edition, organised by the United Nations Human Rights Council, will take place from 30–31 October 2025 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.

Focusing on education as a cornerstone of all human rights, the 2025 Social Forum is a vital platform for collective reflection and action. Here’s everything you need to know to participate effectively.

About the 2025 Social Forum

The Social Forum is an annual event mandated by the UN Human Rights Council to serve as an inclusive space for dialogue between a wide array of stakeholders. The 2025 Social Forum of the UN Human Rights Council will explore the theme:

“The contribution of education to the respect, promotion, protection and fulfilment of all human rights for all.”

This year’s discussions will build on prior sessions—like the 2024 focus on financing—and will explore education as a driver for achieving civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
