    The CJID AI for Civil Society Workshop 2025 presents a transformative opportunity for Nigerian civil society organisations (CSOs) seeking to build capacity in artificial intelligence, ethical AI advocacy, and algorithmic accountability. Organised by the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) and supported by Luminate and the Nigeria AI Collective, this workshop aims to equip CSOs with the tools and networks to shape AI policy and practice across Nigeria.

    Whether you’re a tech-focused non-profit, a governance-oriented NGO, or a grassroots advocacy group exploring digital innovation, the CJID AI for Civil Society Workshop 2025 offers a strategic pathway to deepen your understanding of AI and deploy it for social good.


    Timeline and Duration

    • Application Deadline: 1 August 2025
    • Engagement Period: 6 months of intensive learning, collaboration, and practical implementation

    Workshop Objectives

    The programme is designed to strengthen the role of civil society in Nigeria’s AI ecosystem. Key objectives include:

    • Building foundational knowledge in AI technologies and data governance
    • Promoting algorithmic accountability and ethical AI practices
    • Enhancing CSOs’ ability to influence AI policy and public discourse
