What is the VentureLab HardTech Pitch Competition?
Hosted by ventureLAB, the HardTech Pitch Competition is a national contest that highlights Canada’s most promising hardware-focused small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Finalists are selected to pitch before investors, government leaders, corporate executives, and fellow innovators during the HardTech Summit, a two-day event that draws over 1,200+ attendees from across Canada.

Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the VentureLab HardTech Pitch Competition 2025, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a Canadian-incorporated SME
- Fewer than 100 employees and under $5M in annual revenue
- Must have a valid Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) business number
- Be focused on hardware or hardtech (e.g., semiconductors, silicon IP, sensors, embedded systems, cleantech, MedTech, automobility, smart agriculture, FinTech devices, or next-gen communications)
- Must not have won a previous edition of the competition
- Must be willing to co-locate at ventureLAB’s Innovation Hub in York Region for 6 months if selected as a winner
