    Are you a passionate young leader eager to tackle global challenges and champion democratic values? Here’s your chance! The World Forum for Democracy 2025 – Youth Delegation is now open for applications. This fully funded opportunity invites changemakers aged 18–30 to participate in one of the world’s most prestigious gatherings on democracy, organised by the Council of Europe.

    Taking place in Strasbourg, France, the World Forum for Democracy 2025 – Youth Delegation is your gateway to meaningful discussions, global connections, and real-world solutions on how to revive democracy in an era of rising uncertainty.


    Key Dates & Application Deadline

    • Application Deadline: 4 August 2025 at 23:59 CET
    • Youth Delegation Programme Dates: 2–8 November 2025
    • World Forum Dates: 5–7 November 2025
    • Location: Strasbourg, France

    Theme: “Democracy at Risk: How Can We Revive It?”

    This year’s theme focuses on democracy’s fragility in the face of increasing polarisation, mistrust in institutions, and the rise of autocratic tendencies. The forum aims to spotlight bold, youth-driven solutions that can rekindle democratic engagement and participation.

    Youth delegates will actively participate in debates, roundtables, and lab sessions exploring innovative ideas for a democratic revival.


    Benefits of Being a Youth Delegate

    Selected participants will enjoy full sponsorship from the Council of Europe, including:

    • ✈️ Travel and visa cost reimbursement (upon submission of receipts)
    • 🏨 Free accommodation and meals at the European Youth Centre, Strasbourg
    • 📚 Pre-forum online training and orientation
    • 🗣 Opportunity to share your work, ideas, and interact with global decision-makers

    Note: Full attendance from 2 to 8 November is mandatory to qualify for reimbursement.


    Who Can Apply?

    To qualify for the youth delegation, you must:

    • Be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of the forum
    • Be fluent in English
    • Be actively involved in youth or civil society initiatives working on democracy, participation, and innovation
    • Demonstrate motivation to engage in the theme and share experiences
    • Be available from 2–8 November 2025 (inclusive of preparation activities)

    This is a unique chance for young civic leaders, advocates, and changemakers to shape the global conversation on democratic renewal.
