What is the CIVICUS Youth Action Team?
The CIVICUS Youth Action Team (YAT) is a youth-led advisory group composed of voting members of the CIVICUS alliance, all aged 30 or under. The team works to mainstream youth participation across the organisation’s governance and activities, ensuring that youth priorities are reflected in global civil society conversations.
YAT members co-create and lead youth-focused projects, advocate for the inclusion of marginalised groups, and contribute to reshaping civic spaces through a progressive, intergenerational approach.
Who Should Apply?
CIVICUS is looking for passionate young individuals from diverse backgrounds who meet the following criteria:
- Aged 18–30 by 31 December 2025
- Actively engaged in a civil society organisation, movement, or initiative
- Supported by an organisation that values youth leadership
- Experienced in advocacy and mobilisation for social justice causes
- Skilled in virtual facilitation and online community-building
- Able to commit at least 10 hours per month
- Willing to attend one in-person global meeting annually
- Fluent in English and capable of working across different time zones
- Must come from North, Central or South America; the Caribbean; North, West or Southern Africa; Middle East; or Central/East/Southeast Asia
- Note: Applicants from Mexico, Zimbabwe, and Zambia are not eligible this cycle due to existing representation
