Are you a journalist passionate about covering climate change and energy transition in Latin America? The CT Climate Journalism Mentoring Program 2025 is an exceptional opportunity to elevate your climate reporting skills, access mentorship, and receive financial support while contributing impactful stories to regional and global audiences.

This ninth edition of the programme, organised by Climate Tracker, will support six talented journalists across Latin America and the Caribbean. If you’re from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, or the Dominican Republic, this could be your gateway to becoming a climate journalism leader in your region.

About the CT Climate Journalism Mentoring Program 2025

The CT Climate Journalism Mentoring Program 2025 is designed to develop the next generation of climate storytellers in Latin America. Through a 3-month journey of training, mentoring, and production, selected participants will work with expert editors and mentors to report on energy transition issues with depth, balance, and accuracy.

The initiative supports climate journalism that centres on context, community, and clarity—building narratives that influence policy, drive awareness, and hold decision-makers accountable.

    Who Should Apply?

This programme is open to journalists who meet the following criteria:

    • Have experience or strong interest in climate, energy, environment, or social justice reporting
    • Are ready to produce three original stories for publication
    • Are willing to experiment with formats (e.g., video, social media, newsletters)
    • Freelancers, final-year journalism students, and digital communicators are encouraged to apply

    What’s in It for You?

Selected fellows will receive a tailored package of support including:

    • Advanced virtual training on energy transition and combating climate disinformation
    • Personal editorial mentorship throughout story development
    • Up to USD 900 to fund your three investigative or feature stories
    • An audiovisual piece, professionally edited and optimised for social media
    • A first-person feature in Climate Tracker’s Click Climática newsletter
    • Publishing support via Climate Tracker’s Environmental Media Network

This immersive experience is designed to improve journalistic quality, amplify stories through trusted platforms, and foster regional collaboration among peers.
