Cynthia Lennon Scholarship for Girls 2025

    Deadline: August 15, 2025

The Cynthia Lennon Scholarship for Girls 2025 is now open for applications, offering life-changing educational support to girls aged 5–18 across the globe. Launched to honour the legacy of Cynthia Lennon, this scholarship champions access to education for girls in underserved communities by breaking barriers that limit their potential.

With a track record of success and a clear mission to empower the next generation of female leaders, the Cynthia Lennon Scholarship for Girls 2025 is a call to action for organisations and schools working with young girls around the world.

    About the Cynthia Lennon Scholarship

The scholarship was founded in 2015 as part of the White Feather Foundation’s commitment to global education and equality. Since its inception, 75 scholarships have been awarded to girls from countries such as Kenya, India, South Africa, Myanmar, Ethiopia, the UK, and the US.

    The funding helps cover:

    • School tuition and exam fees
    • Uniforms and school supplies
    • Transportation and boarding needs
    • Digital tools and life-skills programmes

The scholarship has proven to be a powerful vehicle for social mobility, helping young girls achieve high academic performance, transition to higher education, and grow into community changemakers.

    Who Is Eligible?

    This opportunity is open to:

    • Educational institutions, registered NGOs, charities, and community-based organisations
    • Applicants with a working website
    • Programmes or schools nominating a minimum of two girls between 5–18 years old

The application must be submitted by the institution or organisation, not by individual students or families.

    What the Scholarship Covers

Recipients will receive funding tailored to their educational needs, including:

    • Tuition and school fees
    • Textbooks, stationery, and learning materials
    • School uniforms and backpacks
    • Bicycles or transport where applicable
    • Boarding costs (where required)

The scholarship supports holistic development, ensuring that no essential component of a girl’s education journey is left out.

    Application Process

    • Deadline: Applications must be submitted by August 15, 2025.
    • Method: One application form per group (duplicate submissions will not be considered).
    • Format: Applicants are expected to answer questions clearly and thoughtfully, showing how the funding will make a real impact.

    Evaluation Timeline

Applications are reviewed during August, and scholarships are typically awarded in September, aligning with Cynthia Lennon’s birthday (September 10). Successful applicants will be notified by email and featured in future communications by the White Feather Foundation.

    Tips for a Strong Application

To increase your chances of being selected:

    • Be specific about how the funding will be used
    • Share stories of the girls you’re nominating—backgrounds, aspirations, and how education can transform their futures
    • Demonstrate impact—how the scholarship will influence the girls’ lives and communities
    • Highlight accountability—how your organisation manages education support and tracks success
    • Avoid repetition—only one entry per applicant group will be accepted
