About the Bretton Woods 2.0 Fellowship
The Atlantic Council GeoEconomics Center Bretton Woods 2.0 Fellowship 2025 is a highly competitive, eight-month fellowship running from August 2025 to April 2026. It is designed for professionals and graduate-level researchers with a strong interest in international economics, governance, and financial innovation.
Fellows will participate in monthly virtual masterclasses, policy discussions, and leadership development sessions. The program culminates in the publication of policy reports and presentations during the 2026 IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C.
Program Highlights
- Duration: August 2025 – April 2026
- Time Commitment: 5–7 hours per week
- Format: Virtual monthly sessions and peer learning
- Capstone: Present at the 2026 IMF–World Bank Spring Meetings
- Stipend: USD 3,000
- Travel Coverage: Full sponsorship for final presentations
Focus Areas
Fellows will explore and provide solutions around four thematic pillars:
- Governance reforms in Bretton Woods institutions
- Emerging macroeconomic trends
- The role of fintech in global economics
- Influence of non-state actors on economic governance
Eligibility Criteria
The fellowship is open to applicants globally who meet the following:
- Minimum of five years of professional experience or research in economics, public policy, finance, or international development
- Graduate-level academic background (Master’s or PhD preferred)
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate on complex projects
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit:
- A CV/resume
- A writing sample
- Responses to two essay prompts:
- Challenge Analysis (400 words): Discuss current issues facing Bretton Woods Institutions.
- Collaboration Experience (300 words): Describe a project involving cross-sector collaboration.
