    Australia Post Community Grants Program 2025

The Australia Post Community Grants Program 2025 is now open for applications, offering up to AUD 10,000 in funding for local initiatives that build stronger, healthier communities. This year’s program also includes a dedicated AUD 250,000 disaster-recovery funding pool to support regions affected by natural disasters.

    About the Australia Post Community Grants Program 2025

    The Australia Post Community Grants Program 2025 is designed to support projects that promote mental wellbeing and create meaningful social connections at the community level. Since its inception in 2013, Australia Post has distributed over AUD 5.8 million in funding to 893 community projects across the country.

    In 2025, the program is prioritizing locally-led initiatives that respond to increasing mental health challenges and that foster resilience, especially in disaster-impacted communities.


    Funding Available

    • Core Community Grant: Up to AUD 10,000 for each eligible project
    • Disaster Recovery Pool: Part of a dedicated AUD 250,000 fund for projects supporting regions recently impacted by natural disasters or major storms

    Who Can Apply?

    To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    General Eligibility

    • Be an incorporated not-for-profit organization (DGR status not required)
    • Deliver a project focused on:
      • Mental health and wellbeing
      • Creating meaningful connections
    • Project must be community-led and located within Australia

    For Disaster-Recovery Funding

    In addition to the general criteria, the project must:

    • Directly support a community recovering from a recent natural disaster
    • Build resilience, social connection, and wellbeing in affected areas

    Ineligible Projects

    Applications will not be considered for:

    • Large-scale capital works, infrastructure, or renovations
    • Clinical treatments or medical research
    • Projects unrelated to mental health, early intervention, or social connection
      (Note: Therapeutic and early intervention activities such as art therapy, peer mentoring, and mindfulness are acceptable.)

    Key Dates

    • Applications Open: 10 June 2025
    • Applications Close: 7 July 2025, 11:59 PM AEST
    • Successful Recipients Announced: Early October 2025
