    About the MDPI Young Women in Engineering Award 2025

    Organized by MDPI, a globally recognized open-access academic publisher, the MDPI Young Women in Engineering Award 2025 aims to promote gender equity in engineering disciplines by recognizing excellence and impact in scientific research. The award supports and highlights the vital role of women in shaping the future of engineering and technology.


    What Winners Receive

    Two awardees will each receive the following:

    • CHF 1,000 cash prize
    • Electronic certificate of recognition
    • One APC (Article Processing Charge) waiver for any submission to an MDPI Engineering journal (valid for one year)

    This combination of financial support and scholarly exposure makes this award both professionally and practically rewarding.


    Eligibility Criteria

    To be considered for the award, nominees must meet the following criteria:

    • Be female and hold a PhD that was awarded no more than 10 years before December 31, 2025
    • Be an active researcher in the field of engineering
    • Demonstrate significant scientific contributions through publications and/or applied work
    • Be nominated by two senior scientists who can provide recommendation letters detailing their impact

    Required Application Materials

    A complete nomination package must include:

    1. A detailed CV
    2. A list of publications
    3. A summary of past and current research grants
    4. A scanned copy of the PhD certificate
    5. Two signed nomination letters from senior scientists (must include institutional affiliation and contact)
