About the British Academy International Writing Workshops 2025

The British Academy International Writing Workshops 2025 are designed to support early-career researchers in developing countries by helping them develop skills in academic publishing, research dissemination, and collaboration. Workshops are expected to focus on:

    • Enhancing manuscript writing and peer review skills
    • Providing mentorship from experienced researchers
    • Facilitating access to journal editors and publishing networks

    • Workshop materials and logistics
    • Childcare support
    • Conference or networking costs
    • Contributions to non-UK-based co-applicants actively participating

    Expert Advice from Grant Database

To maximize your chances of success, our experts at Grant Database recommend:

“Applicants should prioritize building genuinely collaborative teams, ensuring co-applicants from developing countries are involved in leadership, not just participation. Tailor your workshop plans to address specific gaps in academic publishing capacity, and link outcomes directly to ODA goals such as equity and sustainability.”

    Additionally, be sure to:

    • Clearly define the structure and timeline of your workshops
    • Demonstrate long-term impact and measurable outcomes
    • Provide detailed budgeting that justifies all requested costs
