    The Harvard Radcliffe Fellowship Program 2026-2027 selects approximately 50 fellows each year for a fully-funded residential experience at Harvard’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study. Fellows represent a diverse mix of disciplines and backgrounds—ranging from scientists and engineers to fiction writers, poets, journalists, filmmakers, and public intellectuals.

    The fellowship year fosters collaboration, innovation, and progress on individual projects with the support of Harvard’s world-class libraries, archives, research centers, and intellectual network.


    Fellowship Benefits

    • 💰 Stipend: $78,000 plus an additional $5,000 for project expenses

    Who Can Apply?

    Humanities & Social Sciences

    • PhD or equivalent completed by December 2022
    • Demonstrated research productivity (e.g., published book or two peer-reviewed articles)

    Science, Engineering & Mathematics

    • Doctorate by December 2022
    • At least five peer-reviewed articles (most successful applicants have more)

    Creative Arts

    • Fiction/Nonfiction: Published book or ≥3 shorter works
    • Poetry: 20+ poems or full collection, plus manuscript in progress
    • Visual Arts: 5+ years of practice, 2 solo exhibitions
    • Film & Video: Portfolio of exhibitions or festival showings
    • Journalism: 5+ years of professional reporting experience
    • Music Composition: DMA/PhD preferred, strong public performance history

    🔒 Note: Former fellows from 1999 onward are not eligible to reapply.
