    Deadline: July 7, 2025 (10:00 PM UTC)

The Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) invites eligible civil society organizations to apply for the GHAI Budget Advocacy Accelerator 2025, a transformative, 12-month capacity-building program aimed at strengthening budget advocacy skills across Africa and Asia. If your organization is working to advance public health reforms or tackle non-communicable diseases (NCDs), this is your opportunity to join a powerful network driving real change.

About the GHAI Budget Advocacy Accelerator 2025

The GHAI Budget Advocacy Accelerator 2025 is a technical support initiative designed for civil society organizations (CSOs) in low- and middle-income countries. The program provides tailored mentorship, hands-on learning, and peer collaboration to empower CSOs to influence domestic health financing and improve public health policy outcomes.

This is GHAI’s second cohort of the Accelerator program, building on a successful first edition that empowered CSOs to effectively navigate public financial management systems and influence health budgets at the national and subnational levels.

    Who Should Apply?

This opportunity is open to legally registered CSOs based in Africa and Asia who:

    • Are actively working on policy advocacy, public health, health financing, or related fields.
    • Can demonstrate institutional capacity and experience in working with government or health sector stakeholders.
    • Are eligible to receive foreign funding.
    • Can commit two staff members to participate fully in all program activities.

Both nominated participants must be able to engage consistently throughout the 12-month period.

    What the Program Offers

Participants in the GHAI Budget Advocacy Accelerator will benefit from:

    • 9 to 10 virtual learning sessions on public budgeting, strategic communications, and domestic resource mobilization.
    • 1 to 2 in-person workshops featuring technical deep dives into specific public health topics such as:
      • Mental Health
      • Nutrition
      • Tobacco Control
      • Road Safety
      • Epidemic Preparedness and Response

The training sessions are led by global experts and advocacy leaders and designed to turn knowledge into action through practical application in participants’ local contexts.

    Program Timeline

    • Applications close: July 7, 2025 (10:00 PM UTC)
    • Shortlisting and interviews: July 2025
    • Program launch: August 2025
    • Program duration: 12 months

    Expert Opinion from Grant Database

According to grant reviewers at GrantsDatabase.org, successful applications to the GHAI Budget Advocacy Accelerator tend to share three common strengths:

    1. Clear advocacy track record: Programs that demonstrate measurable impact in influencing health or budget policy.
    2. Defined focus area: Applications aligned with priority issues like nutrition, mental health, or NCDs stand out.
    3. Staff commitment: Clearly identifying and securing the commitment of two experienced staff for full engagement strengthens credibility.

Tip: When preparing your proposal, be explicit about your organization’s past successes, policy engagement strategy, and how you plan to apply insights from the Accelerator to scale impact.
