2025 Federal Government Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF)

The 2025 Federal Government Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) is a transformative funding opportunity designed to empower Nigerian creatives with access to structured finance—backed by a first-of-its-kind framework for monetising intellectual property (IP). Applications are now open for Phase 1 until June 30, 2025.

If you are a creative entrepreneur or business in film, fashion, digital arts, music, media, gaming, or related industries, this is your chance to scale with support from a government-backed vehicle aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

What is the 2025 Federal Government Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF)?

The 2025 Federal Government Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) was approved by the Federal Executive Council in October 2024 and is now operational. The fund supports the creative and cultural sectors through affordable debt, quasi-equity, and grant-based financing.

One of its most innovative features is the ability for creatives to collateralize their intellectual property, opening a new avenue for financing based on intangible assets.

It forms part of a broader national strategy to grow Nigeria’s creative economy into a $100 billion industry by 2030, with over 2 million jobs projected across the value chain.

🧠 Expert Tips from Grant Database

According to the Grant Database Review Team:

“Creatives should approach this application as both a financial and creative storytelling exercise. Your pitch deck must be visually clear, emotionally compelling, and backed by solid numbers. Don’t overlook your CAC filings—any errors there could disqualify you.”

    For best results:

    • Use a professional tone and narrative flow in your pitch deck
    • Ensure all CAC documentation is up to date
    • Submit clear financial projections showing internal rate of return (IRR) over 5 years
    • Highlight how your intellectual property has market value or potential
