About the ICLD Women’s Political Leadership Programme 2025
Organised by the International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD) in collaboration with the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR), this 12-month hybrid programme focuses on capacity building, strategic planning, and implementing locally driven change projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the programme, applicants must:
- Identify as a woman and currently hold an elected or appointed role in local or regional government (e.g., mayor, deputy mayor, councilor, governor)
- Be from an OECD-DAC ODA-eligible country
- Demonstrate proficiency in English (oral and written)
- Be in good health and able to travel internationally
- Be nominated by their organisation and submit only one application
Prior ICLD-funded participants are not eligible to reapply.
