    Global Citizen Waislitz Awards 2025

    Are you a changemaker with a track record of driving innovative solutions to fight poverty? The Global Citizen Waislitz Awards 2025 offer three individuals a chance to win $100,000 each, along with global recognition and support to scale their impact. These prestigious annual awards are hosted by the Waislitz Foundation in collaboration with Global Citizen, spotlighting social entrepreneurs and activists making a difference in the fight to end extreme poverty.

    Applications for the Global Citizen Waislitz Awards 2025 are now open and close on June 8, 2025.


    What Are the Global Citizen Waislitz Awards?

    The Global Citizen Waislitz Awards were created to recognize and support individuals who have demonstrated measurable impact, innovation, and commitment in their efforts to eradicate extreme poverty. Winners not only receive substantial cash grants but also join a powerful global platform to share and amplify their mission.

    Each year, three winners are selected, each receiving a $100,000 cash prize (USD), bringing the total award value to $300,000.


    Award Categories

    There are three award categories, each designed to celebrate different aspects of impactful leadership:

    1. Waislitz Global Citizen Award
      For a top-performing individual whose work is outstanding across all evaluation criteria.
    2. Waislitz Global Citizen Disruptor Award
      For a changemaker leveraging innovative or disruptive models to break down systemic poverty.
    3. Waislitz Global Citizens’ Choice Award
      Selected by public vote, this award honors the applicant who resonates most with the Global Citizen audience.

    Application Timeline

    • Applications Open: May 6, 2025 – 10:00 AM PST
    • Applications Close: June 8, 2025 – 5:00 PM PST

    Early submissions are encouraged to allow ample time for review and adjustments.


    Eligibility Requirements

    To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Affiliated with a legally registered organization (NGO, social enterprise, non-profit, or for-profit)
    • Have 1–2 years of demonstrated impact in poverty alleviation
    • Be able to communicate and submit proposals in English
    • Open to participants from any country

    How Winners Are Selected: Evaluation Criteria

    Applications are reviewed by a panel of experts based on the following criteria:

    1. Global Citizenship – Alignment with Global Citizen values and action.
    2. Proof of Concept – Verifiable impact over the past 1–2 years.
    3. Disruption – Innovative strategies to challenge conventional poverty-related systems.
    4. Scalability – Potential to grow and influence larger populations.
    5. Adaptability – Agility in responding to new challenges and conditions.
