    What Is Lagos Agrithon 2025?

    The Lagos Agrithon is an innovation-driven hackathon dedicated to solving critical challenges across the agriculture and food systems value chain. With a focus on empowering youth-led startups and fostering sustainable development, the event connects promising founders with mentors, investors, and government stakeholders.

    Participants benefit from a robust program, including capacity-building, pitch development, and exposure to decision-makers in agritech and agribusiness.


    Eligibility Criteria

    To apply for the Lagos Agrithon 2025, applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be aged between 18 and 40 years
    • Operate a startup between 0–5 years old
    • Be based in Lagos or have a project that significantly impacts the Lagos agrifood system
    • Be registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)
    • Be registered with the Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASSRA)
    • Have an innovative solution addressing challenges in agriculture or food systems

    Startups, innovators, and interdisciplinary teams are all welcome to apply.


    Focus Areas for Innovation

    Participants must develop solutions that fall under one or more of the following thematic categories:

    • Sustainable Agriculture: Soil health, eco-friendly practices, and water management
    • Food Production: Across all points in the value chain
    • Agri-Fintech: Financial inclusion tools for farmers and agribusinesses
    • Precision Farming: IoT, AI, and other technologies for smart agriculture
    • Supply Chain & Logistics: Innovations in food storage, distribution, and transportation
    • Food Security: Reducing hunger and food waste while improving affordability
    • Agri-Data Analytics: Leveraging data for better decision-making in agriculture
    • Value Addition: Processing and packaging to enhance product worth

    Competition Stages

    The Lagos Agrithon follows a structured, merit-based evaluation system:

    1. Application Stage
      Submit your application and pitch deck online.
    2. Shortlisting
      Top innovators selected based on idea quality, feasibility, and relevance.
    3. Screening
      Shortlisted applicants pitch to a panel of experts.
    4. Mentorship Phase
      Industry experts work with finalists to improve business models and impact.
    5. Pitch Day
      Final presentations to judges, investors, and policymakers.
